The Discharge Medicines Service (DMS) is an Essential service that focusses on ensuring patients transition safely from hospital to home with the correct medications. Our pharmacists review electronic referrals (sent via PharmOutcomes or NHSmail), align post-discharge prescriptions and consult with patients to confirm their understanding of their medication regimen.

PCS (Coming Soon)
The Pharmacy Contraception Service (PCS) is an Advanced service that provides accessible contraceptive care through pharmacist consultations. Our pharmacists provide the service to patients starting or restarting oral contraception, as well as those seeking ongoing supply. Supplies are authorised via a PGD, with necessary checks, including blood pressure and BMI measurements for the combined pill, ensuring safe and effective service delivery.
Our pharmacists deliver the service through the following stages:
- Progesterone-only pill (initiation and continuation)
- Combined oral contraceptive pill (initiation and continuation)
PFS (Coming Soon)
The Pharmacy First Service (PFS) is an Advanced service that allows pharmacists to provide NHS-funded advice and treatment for seven common conditions, where clinically appropriate. Our team can provide six of the seven clinical pathways remotely via high-quality video consultations, excluding the acute otitis media (AOM) pathway, which requires an otoscope. Our pharmacists provide advice and, when clinically necessary, supply prescription-only medications under a PGD or over-the-counter medicines under a clinical protocol.

How much do you charge?
We operate on a pay-per-consultation basis, meaning you only pay for services completed by our locum pharmacists and successfully claimed by your pharmacy. Each service is delivered on behalf of your pharmacy, ensuring compliance with NHS regulations. Pricing is based on a flat fee per claimable consultation. How soon can you start work?
Our pharmacists can begin work quickly, usually shortly after the initial consultation and once the terms and conditions are signed. What happens if a consultation cannot be completed?
If a consultation cannot be completed or claimed, your pharmacy will not be charged. Detailed monthly reports will outline completed and uncompleted consultations, including reasons for any that were not completed.
Is there a minimum contract period?
PharmAdvance does not require a long-term contract; we offer flexible terms to suit your pharmacy’s needs. You can start and stop the service with minimal commitment, allowing you to test the benefits without being locked into a lengthy agreement.
